Following the outstanding success of their previous delegation, the Scottish Africa Business Association (SABA), in partnership with the Energy Industries Council (EIC), is returning to Angola with a new international trade mission.
The mission will bring together businesses from across the world to explore commercial opportunities in Angola, with a particular focus on the country’s oil and gas sector and the extensive opportunities emerging across the wider energy supply chain.
The previous SABA and EIC mission to Luanda delivered an intensive programme of market briefings, business meetings and introductions to key players across Angola’s energy sector. Delegates met with major operators, procurement teams and local businesses, gaining first-hand insight into the market and identifying opportunities for collaboration and future business.
The response was exceptionally positive, with delegates describing the mission as one of the best trade missions they had taken part in.
The success of the previous delegation has reinforced the strength of the partnership between SABA and the EIC and the value of bringing international businesses directly into the Angolan market.
Frazer Lang, CEO of the Scottish Africa Business Association, said:
“Our last mission to Angola demonstrated exactly why targeted, in-market engagement matters. We brought businesses into the room with the people who understand the market, make procurement decisions and can open doors to new opportunities.“The response from delegates was exceptional and there was a clear appetite from Angolan businesses to engage with international companies. Angola has significant commercial potential, particularly across energy and its wider supply chain, and we’re delighted to be returning with the EIC to build on the relationships and momentum we established.”
Angola is one of sub-Saharan Africa’s major oil producers and continues to attract investment across its offshore and deepwater developments. At the same time, the country is focused on strengthening local content, developing its domestic supply chain and increasing participation from businesses with specialist expertise and technology.
For international companies operating across energy, engineering, subsea, inspection and integrity, maintenance, technology, project management and specialist services, Angola offers a range of opportunities to establish new relationships, develop partnerships and access major projects.
The mission will provide participating businesses with direct access to the Angolan market through pre-arranged business meetings, market briefings, introductions to potential partners and engagement with key industry stakeholders.
SABA’s international trade missions are designed to go beyond traditional market visits, connecting businesses directly with the people, companies and decision-makers who can help turn international interest into commercial opportunities.
The upcoming Angola mission is open to businesses looking to enter or expand within the Angolan market.
