It was a great pleasure to meet with His Excellency Mbelwa Kairuki, the new High Commissioner for the United Republic of Tanzania to the UK, yesterday.
We discussed His Excellencies priorities for the year ahead which include trade, tourism, technical cooperation and transfer, higher education and the health sector, and where Scotland can work with Tanzania to achieve results in these areas. We also discussed our belief that there is huge potential in other sectors such as agriculture, aquaculture, renewable energy and skills training, amongst others
Work will start immediately and we agreed to confirm a date for us to host His Excellency for his first visit to Scotland in the coming weeks. Exciting times ahead for Scotland
and Tanzania.
