Scotland - Tanzania Seaweed Meeting

A huge thanks to all who presented and attended the Scotland - Tanzania Seaweed Meeting, online. Also special thanks to Keith James Marin at Scottish Development International for teaming up with SABA to host.

The key take away was how many of the challenges and successes are shared between the Scotland and Tanzania, and there was a real enthusiasm to work collaboratively to drive the sector forward. This has been seen immediately with at least ten connections and conversations already taken place

Special thanks to HE  Mbelwa Brighton Kairuki, High Commissioner of Tanzania to the UK for opening the event. Every presentation was informative and impactful, Hamad Hamad , Blue Economy Manager at The Presidential Delivery Bureau, Zanzibar, Morty Fazal, CEO at C-Weed Mwani, Fatma Fungo CEO at the Zanzibar Masha Bora Foundation, Rhianna Rees at The Scottish Seaweed Industry Association, Gordon McDougall The James Hutton InstitutePete Higgins Seaweed Enterprises

Also great to get some immediate feedback which makes what we do all worthwhile:

"That's the best webinar I've been on for a long time, all the speakers were interesting and I've never seen a webinar keep all the participants online for the entire meeting"

"It was certainly informative for me and I would like to talk further with a couple of people that presented"

"I’ve already had some contact from attendees"

"it was very interesting and I’m keen to see more ways in which we can foster more cross-country collaborations, especially with some of the similar challenges we’re both problem solving"
