On 21st September, the Scottish Africa Business Association (SABA) and our Ghana partners Global Trade Consult hosted a Scotland - Ghana Maritime and Blue Economy Meeting, online, for our members to learn more about the opportunities in the sector and be introduced to the decision makers in country.
Representatives from the Scottish Fishermen's Federation, GHANA MARITIME AUTHORITY, Regional Maritime University, Meridian Port Services Ghana, City of Glasgow College, Gulf of Guinea Maritime Institute NLA International - Blue Economy Solutions, Fife College, Clyde Marine Training Ltd, Stuart Rennie, Gerry Higgins 习杰睿 ,CEng, FRINA and a host of others discussed opportunities for investment, partnerships, and knowledge sharing.
The meeting covered fishing policy and sustainability, opportunities in port logistics and security, the vast potential of the wider blue economy and education and skills training across maritime and offshore.
This was the first in a series of Scotland - Ghana meetings to promote opportunities across sectors and we will announce the next meeting shortly.
