KENYA TRADE MISSION

In January 2026, the Scottish Africa Business Association led a trade mission to Kenya, bringing together Scottish organisations to explore opportunities and strengthen connections in the Kenyan market. The programme included meetings with government representatives, businesses and local organisations, as well as site visits and networking events including participation at the UK-Kenya Business Forum. Delegates gained valuable insight into sectors such as renewable energy, education and skills training, agriculture and maritime, while building relationships with potential partners and learning more about the opportunities for collaboration between Scotland and Kenya.

EGYPT INWARD DELEGATION

As part of Subsea Expo, SABA welcomed Minister Plenipotentiary Wael Abdelraheem to Aberdeen for a programme designed to strengthen links between Scottish businesses and opportunities in Egypt. During the visit, SABA supported a speaking slot at the conference, providing a platform to highlight Egypt’s growing offshore and energy sectors. The programme also included a series of B2B meetings with Scottish companies, as well as site visits to showcase Scotland’s subsea expertise and education & skills training The visit created valuable opportunities for dialogue, knowledge exchange and the exploration of future partnerships between organisations in Scotland and Egypt.

ANGOLA TRADE MISSION

In February 2026, the Scottish Africa Business Association led a trade mission to Angola in partnership with the Energy Industries Council (EIC), bringing together Scottish and UK companies to explore opportunities in the country’s energy sector. The programme included meetings with government representatives, local businesses and industry leaders, alongside targeted B2B meetings and site visits that gave delegates a first-hand look at activity in Angola’s oil and gas sector. The mission received extremely positive feedback from participants, with several delegates describing it as the best trade delegation they had ever been part of, highlighting the quality of meetings, the strength of connections made and the insight gained into the Angolan market.
