WATER SUSTAINABILITY WEBINAR
We held the second in our webinar series on business opportunities in Kenya where businesses from Scotland and Kenya came together to tackle one of the most pressing challenges of our time. Kenya faces significant water scarcity, with only 56% of the population having access to clean drinking water and climate change is exacerbating this issue. Agriculture, which accounts for 70% of water usage, is under immense strain, affecting food security and economic stability. This webinar explored how Scottish businesses, renowned for their innovation in water technology and management, could partner with Kenyan stakeholders to provide sustainable solutions. From advanced water purification systems to smart irrigation technologies, there are opportunities for cross-border collaboration to improve water accessibility and resilience in Kenya.
TRADE MISSION TO GHANA
The West African Energy Summit, held on 3rd and 4th September in Accra, Ghana, has emerged as a pivotal event in the region's energy landscape. This year's Summit, which attracted a diverse audience of policymakers, industry leaders, global expert and our Scottish delegation, underscored the transformative potential of strategic partnerships and innovative solutions in shaping a sustainable energy future for West Africa.

Throughout the two days at the Summit, the engagement of policymakers was a standout feature and our organisation, the Scottish Africa Business Association held a number of high-level discussions with government representatives from across the West African region which provided our delegates with critical insights into the policy and regulatory frameworks necessary to drive the energy transition.
