About the event

As global powers compete for critical minerals and new energy partnerships, the region (East Africa) stands at the centre of a shifting economic and geopolitical map but how will international financing evolve and can private capital keep pace with Africa’s priorities?


The lecture now in its 3rd edition is attended by leaders and thinkers, drawn from politics, Whitehall, business, finance and the tech and creative industries who convene to examine how capital, influence and strategy are converging and what this means for East Africa's long-term trade and investment ambitions.


The lecture under the theme: Capital and influence: Reimagining our region's trade and investment ambitions in a constantly changing business landscape and will be delivered by Prof Victor Murinde - Executive Director at the African economic research consortium ( AERC).


Following the lecture, a series of closed door country discussions will spotlight opportunities in Mauritius, Ethiopia, the DRC and Rwanda.
